We are proud to mark this important day with a press conference emceed by Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, and a strong lineup of State and local leaders, bringing attention to the critical role accessible parking plays in creating inclusive communities.
Accessible parking is more than just a painted space—it’s a pathway to independence, dignity, and participation in everyday life for people with mobility impairments.
Together with police departments, medical professionals, local leaders, and advocates, we are working to ensure these spaces are respected, protected, and available for those who truly need them.
If you can join us at the Enfield DMV, please do. If you can’t then Let’s keep the conversation going by share this post, starting a dialogue, and helping to spread awareness in your community.#AccessibleParkingAwarenessDay #RespectTheSpace @PeaceLoveACCESSibility #InclusiveCT
This morning’s press conference at the Enfield DMV brought together state and local leaders to recognize Accessible Parking Awareness Day, which highlights the importance of protecting accessible parking spaces and the correct use of accessible parking placards. These spaces are not just spots in a parking lot. They are a critical part of ensuring safety, independence, and equal access for people with disabilities. Thank you to the advocates, partners, and community leaders who continue to champion accessibility across Connecticut.
It was such an honor to be in attendance with such respected people within the state. We appreciate all the support we received to bring awareness to the importance of the CT Accessible Parking Program. Thank you Lieutenant Bysiewicz, Commissioner Guerrera, Senator Cohen and all represenatives and agency deputy commissioners. We are so grateful!
